Vocalune for Mac

Privacy Policy

The short version

Vocalune does not collect, upload, sell or share your personal data. Your text, audio, voice recordings and settings stay on your Mac. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Who we are

Vocalune is made by Arnold Sallay, who publishes apps as Radiant Bear Games. This policy covers the Vocalune app for Mac. For questions, email [email protected].

Data the app collects

None. Vocalune does not send your data to us or to anyone else. We cannot see what you type, what you listen to, or which voices you use. The app has no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking code, and it does not use an account or sign-in.

Data stored on your Mac

To work, Vocalune keeps these files in its private app folder on your Mac:

  • The text you are working on and the clips saved in the Library, with their text and settings
  • Voice models you download
  • Voice mixes, cloned voices and their recordings, and your pronunciation list
  • Usage statistics for the Home dashboard, such as minutes of audio created per day. This small log never leaves your Mac.
  • App settings

This data may be included in backups you make, such as Time Machine. Those backups are under your control.

Microphone

Vocalune asks for microphone access only when you choose to record a short sample to create a cloned voice. The recording is made only while you are recording and is saved only on your Mac. You can turn off microphone access at any time in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Microphone. You can also import an audio file instead of recording.

Only clone your own voice or a voice you have clear permission to use. The app asks you to confirm this before it saves a cloned voice.

Files you open or export

When you open a document or export audio, macOS shows a standard file window, and Vocalune can access only the file you choose. Documents are read on your Mac and are not uploaded.

Network connections

Speech is made on your Mac. Vocalune connects to the internet only for these things:

  • Model downloads. When you download a model, the files come from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). If it cannot be reached, the app tries the hf-mirror.com mirror. Like any website, these servers receive your IP address and the name of the file requested. No text, audio or personal data is sent. Their own privacy policies apply to these requests.
  • The App Store. Purchases, subscriptions and restores are handled by Apple. We receive no payment details. Apple's handling is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
  • License links. Links in the app, such as model licenses or this policy, open in your web browser.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Vocalune shows a local notification when a model download finishes while the app is in the background. Notifications are created on your Mac. No push service is used.

Deleting your data

You can delete recordings and statistics in Settings, Storage, delete models in the Model Manager, and delete cloned voices, mixes and pronunciations in the app. Deleting Vocalune removes all of its data from your Mac. Since we do not hold any of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

Children

Vocalune does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version of Vocalune changes how data is handled, this page and the App Store privacy details will be updated before that version is released. The date at the top shows the latest change.
