When to choose ERNIE-Image
Try ERNIE-Image Turbo when a prompt needs a structured, detailed layout or visible words in more than one language. You can keep other models installed and switch when a different visual strength fits the next prompt.
A compact 6.7 GB download
The 4-bit model is about 6.7 GB. In the current 1024 × 1024 test on a MacBook Pro with M5 Max and 48 GB unified memory, it generated an image in 29.9 seconds. Results vary by Mac, size, and settings.
Local prompt, local result
Radiant Canvas processes the prompt and creates the image on the Mac. Once the model is installed, generation can work offline and results are saved to the private local Gallery.
ERNIE-Image Turbo can be useful when a scene contains several parts that need a clear relationship. For example, a prompt might describe a room, the people in it, objects on a table, and a sign on the wall. Put the important parts early in the prompt and describe where they should appear.
The model can also be tried for images that include words in different languages. Keep the text short, place it in quotation marks, and name the language. Generated lettering may still be misspelled or malformed, so read it closely before using the image outside a rough concept or private draft.
At about 6.7 GB, this version sits near the smaller end of the available downloads. It is still large enough that you should check free drive space before installing it. Once the download is complete, the model can create images without sending the prompt to a remote generation service.
