Krea 2 Q8 for quality
The Q8 option has the largest download at about 22.2 GB and is the choice when higher image quality matters more than storage or standard-mode speed. It took 32 seconds in the current 1024 px M5 Max test, or 23.1 seconds in Fast mode.
Krea 2 INT4 for balance
The INT4 ConvRot option is about 15.5 GB and offers a faster, more memory-friendly balance. It took 24.1 seconds in the same test, or 22.8 seconds in Fast mode.
License and local use
Krea 2 downloads require acceptance of the Krea 2 Community License and Acceptable Use Policy. Once installed, prompts and results stay on the Mac and generation can work offline.
The two Krea 2 options are different versions of the same model family. The Q8 version keeps more detail from the original model but needs a larger download. The INT4 version is smaller and usually easier on memory. For everyday experiments, the smaller version is a sensible place to begin.
Use the same prompt and seed if you want to compare them fairly. Look at the whole composition first, then check faces, hands, small objects, and text. A larger model file does not guarantee that every image will look better. The prompt, size, and subject can matter just as much.
Krea 2 Fast mode reduces the time spent on a generation. It can be helpful while you are trying several ideas and do not need a final result yet. Once the composition is close, you can return to the normal mode and compare the output. Keep the version you prefer rather than assuming one setting is right for every prompt.
