What Qwen can do in Radiant Canvas
Qwen Image Edit 2511 can generate an image from text or edit using one, two, or three reference images. Use one image for a change to its setting or style. Add more references when different pictures contain the details you want to use.
Check memory and storage first
Radiant Canvas uses the 4-bit Qwen Image Edit 2511 model. The download is about 19.9 GB. You need an Apple silicon Mac with at least 16 GB of unified memory; 32 GB is recommended. The app requires macOS 26.2 or later. Generation time varies with your Mac, output size, and settings.
Free editing and optional PRO tools
Qwen and reference image editing in Simple are free within the free square image sizes. PRO adds Qwen negative prompts, Fast mode for larger images, and running Image Edit in Studio. A 3-day free trial is available to eligible customers on the monthly plan, which renews at the monthly price unless canceled.
Set up your first Qwen edit
- Open Model Manager, find Qwen Image Edit 2511, and check its memory and download requirements.
- Download the model, then select it in Simple.
- Add your first reference image. Add a second or third only if the edit needs them.
- Write a prompt that explains what each image contributes and what should change.
- Generate and review the result. Change one instruction at a time when refining it.
Give each reference a clear role
Refer to images in the order you added them. Say which image supplies the subject and which supplies the setting, rather than asking the model to combine everything without guidance.
- One image: Change the wall color to dark blue. Keep the furniture and camera angle.
- Two images: Put the vase from image 1 on the table in image 2. Match the light in the room.
- Three images: Use the chair from image 1 and the room from image 2. Use image 3 as a reference for the color palette.
These are prompts to try, not guaranteed results. Check faces, text, object shapes, and any details you need to preserve.
Qwen or FLUX.2 Klein?
Choose Qwen when the edit needs more than one reference image. FLUX.2 Klein uses one reference and is the smaller download, at about 4.7 GB. Both require at least 16 GB of unified memory. Qwen recommends 32 GB.
There are no Qwen timings in the current Radiant Canvas benchmark comparison. Try the same task on your Mac to judge the result and waiting time for your work.
Use Qwen in a saved workflow
With PRO, add an Image Edit step in Studio and connect your reference images and prompt. Keep the edit alongside other image processing steps and save the workflow for another session. For a quick standalone edit, Simple needs less setup.

How many reference images can I use?
Qwen Image Edit 2511 supports up to three reference images in Radiant Canvas. You can also use one or two, or generate from text without a reference.
Can Qwen run on a 16 GB Mac?

Can I use Qwen offline?
Yes. After the model is installed, generation and editing run locally and work offline.
Is Qwen Fast mode the same as the standard mode?
